The buzz surrounding this year's gaming ceremony was significant, especially after host Geoff Keighley posted an enigmatic image of a strange statue. The mystery has now been solved. The acclaimed developer is creating a brand-new Divinity game.
Revealed to be Divinity, the game was debuted with a bold trailer that included striking imagery, from a figure engulfed in flames to scenes of revelry and the very opening of infernal gates.

Anyone expecting Divinity Original Sin 3, that is not happening. Larian warned that a third Original Sin game to its beloved RPGs is not being worked on now.
That said, the developer described this new Divinity as a continuation of the main series. This choice of words implies that the team could be building a faster-paced experience as opposed to another turn-based title. For now, we can only guess, as only a announcement clip is available.
The Legacy of Divinity
The Divinity series is highly rated and many say it sparked the recent resurgence of complex computer role-playing games. These games are known for intricate stories, branching plots, and deep class systems—traits that recently were perfected in games like Baldur's Gate 3.
While its world is classic fantasy, what truly sets Divinity apart is the unprecedented level of trust given to the player.
In contrast to modern RPGs have pared back options, Divinity is packed with specialized paths that are viable if you're playing as a distinct build with a personal story.
The series is also famously open-ended, allowing players to improvise throughout the entire experience. Virtually all objectives can be approached in a variety of manners, sometimes in surprising fashion.
- You might find an answer because you remembered something a non-human character said.
- Or, you could overcome an obstacle by teleporting a glob of lava in a clever way.
